SRE Engineering Manager / MBA student / systems, AI, finance, business

Yashar Nesabian

I build reliable systems and lead the teams that operate them. My current edge is connecting infrastructure depth with AI-enabled workflows, management, finance, business thinking, and the builder mindset behind durable companies.

Now

Current focus

I am interested in the next layer of my work: moving beyond traditional IT execution into infrastructure strategy, product-minded platform thinking, finance, and businesses where technical depth compounds.

  • Engineering management
  • MBA studies
  • Finance
  • Business models
  • AI skills
  • Platform reliability
  • Systems design
  • Entrepreneurship

About

Technical depth with a management surface area.

My background is infrastructure and systems engineering: Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, automation, observability, and the practical mechanics of keeping services alive.

As an engineering manager and MBA student, I care about clarity across systems, organizations, and AI-assisted work: what the system is doing, what the team owns, what risk looks like, and how technical decisions connect to business outcomes.

Selected projects

Work I want this domain to point toward

Infrastructure

Cloud operating models

Designing infrastructure workflows that make environments reproducible, reviewable, and less dependent on memory.

  • Terraform modules and state boundaries
  • Environment promotion patterns
  • Access, ownership, and change control

Reliability

Kubernetes and service health

Making runtime platforms easier to reason about before they fail, and easier to recover when they do.

  • Capacity and deployment safety
  • Operational runbooks
  • Incident review habits

Observability

Signals over dashboards

Building monitoring around questions engineers actually ask during incidents, not around charts that look impressive.

  • SLIs, SLOs, and alert quality
  • Logs, metrics, traces
  • Debuggability by design

Business

Technical depth with commercial context

Studying how infrastructure, reliability, finance, and operating models influence the shape of durable businesses.

  • Cost, risk, and tradeoff literacy
  • Platform work as leverage
  • Entrepreneurial systems thinking

AI

AI skills as operational leverage

Exploring practical AI workflows that extend engineering judgment instead of replacing it with vague automation.

  • Codified skills and repeatable workflows
  • AI-assisted engineering operations
  • Human review, context, and control

Writing

Notes from the engineering edge

The blog is the place for essays, field notes, and technical thinking: reliability, infrastructure, AI skills, management, systems, finance, business, and the occasional idea that starts outside work and still changes how I think about work.
